The Information Technology Specialist 3 works in partnership with the rest of the Information Support Services team to insure quality customer service and high reliability in all technical aspects for the end users. The primary responsibility will include, but is not limited to, end user support and training, installation and configuring and maintaining agency network and server based systems. Work also includes collaboration on projects such as conducting technical needs assessments, creating installation plans, analyzing and correcting network malfunctions, serving as system administrator and enhancing operating environments; and related work as required.

Job Duties:

  • Provides effective technical and personal support to all elements of the programs in an efficient and positive customer-service manner. This may include training, regular and special reporting, management and program information systems.
  • Assists agency staff remotely by telephone or in person on-site in an efficient manner to expedite successful resolutions within 24 hours or within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Correctly installs, configures and maintains Windows client computer systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, OS and application problems in a reasonable timeframe and/or by established deadlines.
  • Properly uses and documents ticketing system, including but not limited to communication logs.
  • Coordinates supply and maintenance repair and up-grade orders.
  • Seeks approval to move forward with projects, solutions, replacements and purchases.
  • Assists in budget preparation, monitoring and the careful use of allocated resources.

Associate's degree in Computer Science or 4 years of experience in a relevant technical support field or an equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate advanced computer skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Project Management
  • Advanced troubleshooting and triage support
  • Server configuration, virtualization, and troubleshooting
  • Design, build, and maintain network and standalone database systems
  • VoIP telecommunication systems, setup and management
  • Web design, Search Engine Optimization, and social media management
  • Office 365, G-Suite or other cloud based services 

Physical Demands: 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
