The EHS Teacher works with infant/toddlers to promote children's growth in the areas of social-emotional, physical, cognitive and language development in an age appropriate manner. The teacher will be expected to provide continuity of care for 8 children and build nurturing, protective, stable, and consistent relationships. Partners with families in every aspect of their child's growth and development through daily communication and regular home visits.

Job Duties:

  • Works with a team to ensure that each child receives developmental, sensory, medical, dental, mental health, nutritional, and behavioral screening/assessments and follow up services as required.
  • Uses lesson plans to organize each day's activities to provide children with a variety of experiences and opportunities that allow them to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity, as well as a sense of self and a feeling of belonging to the group.
  • Works with families to establish an eating routine with toddlers. Works with site teams to develop a relaxed, socially enriched meal/snack schedule. Participates in family style meal experiences with toddlers following USDA standards.
  • Supports family participation in activities that build on existing abilities and strengthen parenting confidence, competence, and attachment.
  • Completes reports and records according to program deadlines.
  • Utilizes home visit and other parent focused activities to establish a positive link between home and school. Supports the parent as the primary educator of the child.
  • Assists families by making referrals and/or accessing community and agency resources.


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in early childhood programs.
  • Infant/toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education with infant/toddler coursework or Certificate of Completion from an accredited college in Infant Toddler Early Childhood Education.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division.
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License, acceptable driving record and insured vehicle available for use on the job or acceptable alternative.
  • Possess or ability to obtain Infant/Toddler First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Possess or ability to obtain a Food Handlers Card

Physical Demands:

  • Required to frequently reach with hands and arms; regularly required to climb or balance; occasionally required to stand; walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to quickly evacuate children from the classroom in an emergency.
  • Manual dexterity for handling office equipment.
